October 10, 2024 RLDatix Marketing

From September 11-12, 2024, RLDatix APAC proudly served as the main headlining sponsor for the Aged Care Workforce Leaders Forum, held at the Hilton, Sydney. This forum, a critical event for aged care sector leaders, was conducted in conjunction with three other key streams: the Aged Care Quality, Safety and Risk Forum, Aged Care Financial Sustainability Forum, and Aged Care Home Care Reform Forum. RLDatix also supported the discussions as Gold sponsors for both the Quality, Safety and Risk Forum and the Financial Sustainability Forum.

During the event, Emma HossackCEO of the Medical Software Industry Association (MSIA), delivered a keynote in the Workforce Leaders stream titled: “Enhancing Aged Care with Intelligent Workforce Solutions …Don’t sigh, technology really can help.” Emma’s presentation highlighted the importance of embracing technology to address pressing workforce challenges. Some key takeaways from her session include:

  • Productivity in aged care is directly correlated to the use of digital technology tools.
  • Up to 30% of the current workforce’s tasks could be automated, reducing administrative burden.
  • Leveraging technology promotes more effective staffing and better workforce outcomes.
  • When planning a roadmap for digital solutions, it’s best to remain “visibly vague”—allowing for flexibility and adaptation as improvements are made.

In the Financial Sustainability stream, RLDatix’s Sales Director, Richard Hazeltine, participated in a panel discussion alongside other aged care leaders. The session, focusing on “Addressing Ongoing Financial Sustainability Challenges in Aged Care,” underscored key points such as:

  • Shifting the focus from solution features to desired outcomes and results.
  • Balancing innovation with maintaining high standards of care.
  • Ensuring follow ups with thorough benefit realisation after implementing new solutions.

RLDatix also contributed to the Quality, Safety, and Risk Forum with a fully packed roundtable discussion facilitated by our Risk Management SME, Sharee Daniel, together with Ceinwen Lawrence, Head of Clinical Governance at Calvary Health. Her session, titled “Promoting a Culture of Open Communication in Aged Care,” sparked vibrant discussions around three core questions:

    1. How are you fostering a culture of open disclosure and communication?
    2. How do you overcome staff resistance to reporting?
    3. What steps are you taking to promote continuous improvement?

This insightful roundtable generated several valuable takeaways, which we’ve compiled in a separate write-up. Click the link below, to read the “Key Takeaways – from the Roundtable Session”.

Throughout the two-day event, our team engaged in numerous fruitful conversations with delegates, speakers, and members of the aged care community at our RLDatix booth. The dialogue reaffirmed the sector’s growing interest in both workforce and governance solutions to navigate evolving challenges.
