On February 25-26, 2025, RLDatix APAC proudly hosted the Connected Health & Care Summit in Melbourne, Australia, bringing together 150 healthcare leaders across 81 organisations. Over two days, the summit fostered insightful discussions, thought leadership, and collaboration on the future of healthcare across the Asia-Pacific region.

From AI-powered efficiencies to governance, workforce optimisation, and safety, the Summit provided an engaging platform for industry experts, executives, and innovators to explore solutions that are shaping the future of connected healthcare.

Kicking Off with Purpose: The Heart of Healthcare

The Summit opened with an inspiring keynote by Dan Michelson, CEO of RLDatix, titled “The Heart of Healthcare.” His message resonated deeply:

“What flows through our software is not bits and bytes… it’s human lives.”

This sentiment set the tone for the two days, emphasising that technology in healthcare should ultimately empower people—patients, caregivers, and providers alike.

A lineup of 25 expert speakers delivered compelling presentations and engaged in panel discussions, fireside chats, and interactive Q&A sessions. Some key highlights included:

Tim Kelsey, CEO, Beamtree – In his session “Where Human Intelligence Meets AI,” Tim explored the evolving role of AI in healthcare decision-making. His thought-provoking discussion highlighted how AI can enhance—not replace—human expertise, ensuring better patient outcomes and operational efficiencies.

Anthony Laye, Behaviour Expert & Mentalist – A captivating session that explored how behavioural insights influence leadership, decision-making, and patient care.

Imtiaz Bhayat, CIO, Regis Aged Care – Shared Regis’ innovative journey in building an AI-powered tool that eliminates the need for manual progress notes, boosting internal efficiency and reshaping aged care workflows.

Fireside Chat with Industry LeadersEmma Hossack (CEO, MSIA) and Bettina McMahon (CEO, HealthDirect) engaged in an insightful discussion, answering audience questions on digital health trends, regulatory landscapes, and patient-centric innovation.

 

A Night to Celebrate Innovation: Gala Awards & Magic

The Gala Dinner and Awards Night on February 25th was a night of celebration and recognition, honouring organisations that have made a significant impact in healthcare innovation. Three winners across different categories were awarded for their outstanding contributions.

The Award – Safer & Better Client or Patient Journey Award was awarded to: St Vincent’s Health Australia

The Award – Safer & Supported Workforce Award was awarded to Albury Wodonga Health

The Award – Safer & Operationally Sustainable Organisation Award was awarded to St John of God Health Care
